Frequently Asked Questions (faqs)

Do you take insurance?

At this time I do not take insurance. I am more than happy to discuss payment plans for services if needed.

What Kind of training do you have?

I have been trained through the Common Sense Childbirth Institute. You can learn more about my credentials by checking out this page.

Why did you become a doula?

I actually became a doula because I wanted a doula myself. I learned about doulas and fell in love with what they do and how they support mothers and empower them to advocate for themselves. The more I learned, the more excited I became. One day it hit me, that the same excitement I felt about the idea of being supported and cared for in my birth journey, I could provide for others. Being a doula wraps up every one of my passions into a neat package. I love and have always supported families. I have always been an advocate and cheerleader for women. I have always been a believer that women are strong and deserve to be protected and empowered. I’ve always believed that support should be normalized and I have always believed that community care (us caring for one another) is the best care. This is why I became a doula.

What does a consultation entail? How should I prepare?

A consultation is an intial meeting between me and you where you get to tell me what you’re hoping for and I get to tell you what With Grace Perinatal is all about and we get to see if we make a good fit — It’s a no pressure chat. To prepare for a consultation you should be in a space with decent lighting (if you choose video) and a space that is relatively private where you will feel comfortable talking openly with me.

I’m not sure I want a doula…can I still book a consultation?

Yes. I’d still love to meet with you! We can chat and maybe there are other services you may be interested in, if not no worries!

Can I have a doula if I’m planning a cesarean birth?

Yes. Support is support, whether that is working on your list of birth preferences or preparing for postpartum, you are still able to have access to a doula.

I’m due soon, is it too late to get a doula?

No it is not too late! If I am able to fit you in, I will. We can definitely discuss your timeframe during your consultation.

What areas do you serve?

I serve Rhode Island and Massachusetts families. I live in Rhode Island and I am located right on the Massachusetts border so I make myself available to both communities!
